We
operate from the iP House data
centre, a multi-million
pound facility managed by THUS plc, one of the UK's leading network
operators.
Located in a light industrial area of the London Docklands,
the data
centre is situated at the heart of the UK's eCommerce and connectivity
hub, ensuring that the fastest and most efficient routes for
your data can be made throughout the UK and further afield.
|
| The data
centre features the very latest world class resilient infrastructure,
including multiple levels of 24/7 security, stable high-capacity
power supplies, fire protection, in-house support and environmental
controls, to name but a few. |

Network & Connectivity
Our network is switched using only high quality
Cisco routers and switches,
utilising the Border Gateway Protocol Version 4 (BGP4). This advanced routing
ensures that bandwidth can be channelled through the best available
carrier giving you seamless connectivity at the same time. Our BGP4
mix consists of Level 3, LambdaNet, KPN and Tiscali through our multi-homed
transit provider, Aexiomus. We additionally have peering arrangements
with Lipex, Xchange Point, LoNAP and PacketExchange, meaning our connectivity
to the Internet is blisteringly fast in the UK, mainland Europe and
further afield. [Read More]
Power
|
The incoming power
supply to the facility is via diverse power feeds, and is protected
and filtered to avoid spikes, brown-outs and black-outs via
a 2000kva UPS. In addition, two 980KVA generators are supplied
via a 14,000 litre diesel tank making the facility entirely
self-sufficient for prolonged outages.

Environment
|
The
high performance, sensitive electronic equipment we use to power
our web hosting service requires a precise, reliable control
of room temperature. The server room is maintained at a constant
21°C ±
1°C and relative humidity is kept at 40% - 60% through ten Stulz
internal down-flow precision air conditioning systems. The UPS
switchroom has been installed with five up-flow air conditioning
units to maintain room conditions as above.

Fire Supression
|
FM-200
Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) is installed in
the data floor and UPS switchroom. Highly sensitive aspirating
smoke detectors are linked to the building management system
which is monitored continually from the network operations
centre , provide very early detection to help avoid fire, loss and
business disruption. A smoke / gas extract system has
been installed to extract smoke and gas from the floor void
and from the data
centre, discharging directly to the outside. The FM-200 Fire
suppression system has been designed, to discharge and fill
the data
centre and power room areas with in ten seconds.

Our
entire network is switched using high quality Cisco routers
and switches. We are a corporate customer with Dell, who provide
our racks and server equipment, with Intel as our preffered
supplier of server processors. To learn more about our server

Security
|
When
it comes to security, we refuse to compromise. The data
centre features totally comprehensive 24/7 security to keep our equipment
100% safe. The entire compound is secured with razor-wire and
large security gates which only open once manual identity checks
have been performed by a member of on-site staff. Further identity-by-photo
verification in an air-locked zone is required before access
to the data floor is permitted. The whole facility is protected
by security guards 24/7/365, re-enforced by CCTV video camera
surveillance and a security breach alarm, ensuring an incredibly
high level of security is maintained at all times.

Monitoring & Support
|
On-site
technicians are available 24/7/365 ensuring that the network
operates optimally at all times, and that any hardware repairs can
be conducted at any time. Individual servers and services
are monitored every minute of every day from three global locations,
ensuring that we are apprised of any unusual activity at all
times. We additionally have our own support staff on call
in the immediate area.
